Dr. Michelle Buggs, a native of Lake Dallas, Texas, holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Dallas and a Master of Arts in College Student Personnel from Bowling Green State University. She began her career in higher education at Texas Woman’s University, where she served students through intercultural services, taught in the First-Year Experience Program, and later oversaw undergraduate academic programs. In 2015, she earned her Doctor of Education in Higher Education degree from the University of North Texas. Dr. Buggs transitioned to Collin College in 2019 as an Associate Dean and was promoted to Dean of Academic Affairs at the McKinney Campus in 2024.

She is passionate about mentoring, serving, leadership development, equity in education, and student success. Outside work, she enjoys traveling, reading, fitness, and spending time with love ones.
