Volunteer McKinney operates with one staff member and countless volunteers, including our Board of Directors, who are committed to assisting volunteers in connecting with their passion and making local nonprofits the best they can be.
Interim Executive Director – Wendy Kidd
The Board has appointed Wendy Kidd as the Interim Executive Director. Wendy has served on the Volunteer McKinney Board since October 2023 and brings over 12 years of board leadership experience, having held roles as President, Vice President, and Communications Officer for various nonprofit event industry organizations. She is also a dedicated community leader and a founding executive committee member of the McKinney Día de los Muertos festival since 2021.
In addition to her nonprofit leadership, Wendy has owned her own event planning business for 20 years and consults with small business owners to help them grow and succeed. Her extensive background in business strategy, event management, and nonprofit leadership will help ensure a smooth transition as Volunteer McKinney continues its mission of connecting volunteers with local nonprofits and supporting community service initiatives.
Wendy and her family moved to their dream home in Melissa in 2023. Before that, they lived in McKinney for 9 years and Frisco for 11 years.
