MCKINNEY, Texas- The nation’s largest giving day returns to North Texas for its 9th year on September 14, 2017 and Volunteer McKinney is once again a part of this exciting day.
For the fourth consecutive year, Volunteer McKinney is partnering up with Communities Foundation of Texas and hosting Collin County Giving Day Party in the Park, featuring over 60 nonprofit booths, music, dance performances and entertainment, children’s activities, food trucks, sports demonstrations and a blood drive.
“We are ready to Party in The Park,” said Dana Riley, Executive Director. “Volunteer McKinney is always honored to be partnering with Communities Foundation of Texas to help bring the community together for this big day of giving. This year, we have more organizations, live entertainment, food and fun.
In addition to family friendly activities, Daisy Mae, North Texas’ much beloved Labrador who survived a car accident that prompted a wide-spread search effort, will be making her first public appearance.
“Daisy Mae’s story is an excellent example of the dedication and hard work nonprofits in our area provide,” Riley said. “There are numerous agencies that work with animals, homelessness, poverty, crisis relief and other vital needs that require the support of our community. Our Collin County Giving Day event is the portal that allows this to happen.”
The Collin County Giving Day Party in the Park hosted by Volunteer McKinney and the McKinney Community Development Corporation will be at Finch Park (301 W Standifer St, McKinney, TX) from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Collin County Giving Day is sponsored by Communities Foundation of Texas, McKinney Community Development Corporation, and Vector Systems, Inc. In-kind sponsors include McKinney Chamber of Commerce, Market Street, Ag-Power and Collin Child Magazine.
