Klyne Smith – Professional Services
Dr. Klyne Smith has more than 25 years of IT and Telecommunication technical experience in complex solution delivery, business development, IT consulting, operations, and project management. This is couple with fourteen plus years of executive leadership in managing P&L across IT, entertainment, sports, retail, utilities, finance, telecommunication, transportation, and hospitality industries. He has delivered solutions on 5 continents and over 23 countries.
Recently, Dr. Smith opened his own Project Management Professional Services company helping organizations optimize complex software delivery projects. The company focuses on Initiation, Planning, Executing, and PMO Consulting. Prior to opening his own company, he worked for IBM, Nokia, Ericsson, TRT, and Caesars.
Dr. Smith started his volunteerism in 1985 working with elementary kids in New Orleans and has not stopped since. Along with a Board Member of Volunteer McKinney, he is the President of the McKinney YMCA Board of Directors, Board Member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Guide Right Foundation, President of the McKinney Boyd Engineering Booster club, Board Member for the Education Unbound Foundation, Advisor Board Member for SMU Lyle School of Engineering, along with partnering with many other non-profit organizations and city governments.
Dr. Smith completed his Doctor of Engineering degree from Southern Methodist University, with a concentration in Software Engineering. He also holds a BS in Computer Science / Mathematics from Xavier University, a MIS from George Washington University, and a MBA from Christian Brothers University. He is currently teaching in the Lyle School of Engineering at SMU.
